Reproductive Health in Syrian Refugee Camps in Chios, Greece

Participants will take part in a simulation of the Souda Camp in Chios, Greece. The participants will be assigned roles to portray the daily challenges of refugees such as, bathroom lines, lack of access to feminine hygiene products, language barriers, and lack of electricity. The simulation will be followed by a reflection session. After the debrief, the co-founders of The Unmentionables, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing undergarments, intimate and feminine hygiene products, sexual health products and related programming, will discuss their work in Greece. The session will conclude with a brief Q&A, where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about working on the ground with refugees, and how to protect and empower global refugee populations with dignity through hygiene.
